Fishing for Change
Join us for a FREE day of adventure starting at your local train station. Your guide will take you, by train, to Bristol Harbour where you will board not one, but TWO boats and complete several fun activities before hopping back on the train and returning to your start point.
What can I expect?
A lovely, free, hands on day out to Bristol Harbour starting and ending at your local train station.
A friendly member of our team joining you and your family for the whole day making navigating the train and boats easy.
Accompanied by your friendly guide, you will see Bristol from a whole different perspective: especially onboard SeaCycler, a plastic fishing punt, and one of only 6 of its kind in the world! Onboard SeaCycler, you will help clean up our waterways by litter picking alongside our wonderful skippers: Jon and Paul.
As well as litter picking from our boat, other activities will include a tour of the harbour with Bristol Community Ferry Boats who will share their best historical facts as well as some very important advice on water safety. We will also invite you to try our brilliantly crafty challenge: can you turn your litter into a colourful fish? And that's not all: Severnside Community Rail Partnership will help you and your children build confidence in using the railway independently while Crimestoppers will be sharing information on their Fearless Campaign.
A jam packed day full of fun, adventure and maybe even new experiences - we hope you will join us!
What do I need to bring?
- Appropriate clothing (there isn't a cover on SeaCycler so please prepare for the weather that day)
- A drink
- A small bag ONLY - storage is limited and belongings may get wet
- A packed lunch (options nearby are limited)
*ALL litter picking kit and equipment will be provided
- Maximum of 8 people per booking
- Suitable ages 6+
- Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
- Toilet and hand wash facilities are available at lunchtime
- An inside space is available for lunch

What dates and times can I join Fishing for Change??
Unfortunately our trips for this summer are now all complete - however, we are looking to secure funding for our future adventures. We would love to show that there is demand so please help us by registering your interest and we will contact you with our next dates - thank you!
